Thank you for your inquiry, Carolyn. You have brought up an important point, including bacteria - but only if not handled and manufactured properly. All Naturaw Salmon (including the Fillet), is frozen for a minimum of 3 weeks at -21 degrees C to eliminate all risk of parasites. In addition, our Salmon mix is safe for dogs and you shouldn't worry about administering this protein to your pet. Remember to limit Salmon consumption in any pet diet to once per week.
