Ask a Question

Would you recommend feeding raw meaty bones together with your classic blend/premium meats as one meal? Or should they be served separately? Kristina L asked this question on June 4, 2022.

Hello, Kristina. Thank you for your inquiry. Raw meaty bones can be fed with our blends, but the bone must be consumed in moderation. Too much bone will result in a harder stool for the pet. We would not recommend feeding raw meaty bones of the larger size with every meal; this would be too much for the diet. I would recommend feeding the bone as a treat later in the day. If you feed your pet in the morning, you can give him/her a raw meaty bone at night. The poop will tell you how much to give and when, if ever, to take it away. Every dog reacts differently to bones, so simply monitor and adjust as needed. It also depends on the type of bone. If you're considering giving bone with each meal, I would give 1/4 of that with a meal, or even better if you opt-in for a smaller raw meaty bone with more meat content, which would be a lot easier on your end for monitoring the intake and provide the larger carcasses once or twice per week, to promote mental stimulation and also clean their gums and teeth. I'd recommend bones like Free-Range Duck Wings, Turkey Wings, Salmon Head, and so on. If you have any questions, please contact us via live chat or WhatsApp where we'd love to continue this conversation. 🙂
